Class IX surface area and volume

                                                          Class-IX

Math ( Surface area and volume)   HOTS

1.Two cubes have volumes in the ratio 27 : 64. Find the ratio of their surface areas.

2.If the heights of two cones are in the ratio 1 : 3 and their diameters are in the ratio 3 : 5, find the ratio

of their volumes.

3.Find the length of the longest rod that can be placed in a room 30 m long, 24 m broad and 18 m high.

4.If each edge of a cube is increased by 25%, then find the percentage increase in its surface area.

5.If the volume of a sphere is divided by its surface area, the result is 27 cm. Find the diameter of the

sphere.

6.A cube is made by soldering twelve 30 cm, lengths of wires properly at the vertices of the cube. If a

fly rests at one of the vertex and then walks along the edges, then find the greatest distance it could

travel before coming to any vertex a second time, without retracing any distance.
